A sequel to Solo is coming
By: Jake Rajala
We all love Han Solo. He’s a fearless, rugged, pilot. He also happens to be best friends with Chewbacca. I certainly believe that the Harrison Ford version is more superior to the Alden Ehrenreich. Nonetheless, Alden was sharp enough to be featured in the spin-off, “Solo”.
Solo had up and down reviews. The audience loved the non-stop action and characters in it. However, It got a 69% Rotten Tomatoes score. Ron Howard was the director for the piece. He has had some other hits, such as Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind.
With that said, a sequel to the Star Wars film is said to be right around the corner. According to “The Direct”, Disney confirmed the sequel to Solo and it would be by way of a comic book published in partnership with Mad Cave Studios Papercutz label. It’s titled none other than Star Wars: Smuggler and Scoundral: the Black Sun Eclipse. It will come in the Fall of 2027.
Solo wasn’t a massive success and the recent Star Wars film, “The Mandalorian and Grogu” didn’t pan out. So, how could we trust Disney with a sequel to Solo?
I simply believe that the uniqueness of Adam Lance Garcia will bring a different element to the film. He is their writer. Rogue One was a brilliant spin-off. The director for that film was Gareth Edwards. Of course, he was the director of “Godzilla” and most recently: “The Creator’”
Garcia loves to write comic books and so forth. It will be a fascinating transition to bringing his writing talents to the big screen.
