Ben Affleck turned down a Star Wars movie

Ben Affleck is one of the best actors and directors in Hollywood. We’re talking about someone that started in “Good Will Hunting” and has recently been in “Air”. Of course, Matt Damon is his sidekick.

With that said, there is another role that he could have had. It was for none other than Star Wars. Yes, he turned down a shot to direct “Star Wars: Force Awakens”. I’m talking about a movie that was deep, unique, and had superb visual effects. I also happen to own it on Blu-Ray.

The question is: why would he turn it down?

He said that he liked Star Wars, but he believed someone with a closer attachment to the franchise would be better. He said, “someone who has more passion for this is going to do a better job”, noted by Collider.

Of course, J.J. Abrams took on the challenge of creating a film that came after “Revenge of the Sith”. In other words, he had a lot of expectations from millions of Star Wars fans. In the end, I believe they did a fine job of making the film. Daisy Ridley (also known as Rey) was a stud. Harrison Ford came back from life. John Boyega was fiery and passionate, especially for Rey.

The film garnered an 93% Rotten Tomatoes score. That’s higher than “Return of the Jedi” and the first three films in the early 2000s.

The force may still be with Affleck. Perhaps all he need is Matt Damon to link up with for a Star Wars project.
