Reflecting on Marcia Lucas

Marcia Lucas reflection

It has been depressing for Star Wars fans as of late. We have witnessed famous Star Wars figures pass away, such as Alec Guinness, Carrie Fisher, and Christopher Lee. They have brought endless joy to millions of people. With that said, another Star Wars figure has passed away. I’m talking about Marcia Lucas.

She was married to George Lucas, who is the founder of Star Wars. She passed away at the age of 80 and it was from metastic cancer.

She was an Oscar nominated editor for his work with Star Wars. She edited “Star Wars: A New Hope” and “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi”. She was referred to as a “secret weapon” behind George’s work.

There have been many underrated faces that make Star Wars special. We know George wasn’t a one-man army. There is also the 94 year old John Williams. He is arguably the best composer of all time.

So, what else should we know about Marcia?

At her time of death, she was reported to have $50 million dollars! Obviously, George had billions of dollars in his piggy bank.

Marcia was born in Modesto, CA. This may not come as a surprise, as George comes from there, as well. Movies and art were also common in the Bay Area many years ago.

Besides Star Wars, she kept busy. She also edited “Taxi Driver” and “American Graffiti”. American Graffiti was directed by Lucas. It also included Han Solo (also known as Henry Ford).

A lot of the original members of the old Star Wars films are getting up there in age. Thankfully, many of the recent Star Wars films don’t have many ancient figures. Daisy Ridley is 34, John Boyega is 34, Adam Driver is 42, and Hayden Christensen is 45.

Let it be known that George Lucas is 82 years old. I hope he sticks around as long as Clint Eastwood, who is 96 years old.
