Reflecting on Anthony Daniels in Star Wars
By: Jake Rajala
There is only one person that has been in every Star Wars film. No, I’m not talking about Jar Jar Binks or Chewbacca. Rather, I’m talking about C-3PO, who is played by Anthony Daniels. He can talk in millions of languages. Of course he doesn’t show his face. He even recently played C-3PO in “The Mandalorian and Grogu”!
Daniels is 80 years old, which is two years younger than the Star Wars founder George Lucas. It’s heartwarming that they have gone through the Star Wars films together.
My favorite C-3PO moment came in “Attack of the Clones”, where his head was attached to the body of a droid. He tried to kill Jedi, unintendedly.
I love the friendship between C-3PO and R2-D2. They are both bots that can live forever. They have been through many adventures together.
So, now I’m going to lay out some key facts about Daniels. He’s from Salisbury, United Kingdom. The town has a population of 41,800. In other words, it’s small.
His work with Star Wars includes child-hood shows, too. He is a part of “Lego Star Wars” and even shows like Ahsoka.
Daniels is married to Christine Savage. It’s unclear what she does for an occupation.
George Lucas has worked on a “George Lucas Museum”. Perhaps we will see C-3PO in the museum. If they could get him to talk, that would be impressive.
To finish with some drama, Kenny Baker (who plays R2-D2) didn’t get along with Daniels. Their work ethics clashed with one another and personality didn’t unite well.
