Will we have a Jyn Erso show?
By: Jake Rajala
Jyn Erso is one of the biggest bad-asses in Star Wars. She proved that she can survive on her own, as her father left and her mother died at eight years old. When she is given a free ride to escape, she hits the rebels with a shovel and tries to leave for her own freedom.
Jyn becomes involved with a rebel pilot named Cassian. They are trying to find the recipe to taking down the death star. Of course, Jyn’s dad works for the Imperial forces.
With that all said, there have been Star Wars shows affiliated with Rogue One. Cassian has his own show called, “Andor”. It’s arguably the best Star Wars show! It has a rotten tomatoes score of 96%.
So, the question is: should we see a show with Jyn?
Just to highlight key points in her past before Rogue One. She had her “criminal survival”. She had resisting arrest for petty theft, forging imperial documents, and ship jacking. She also used an alias (Lyanna Hollik) to stay away from danger. Furthermore, she had temporary family with Tamsye Prime. Sadly, they were wiped out. She lost her family, again!
After being on the run for minor crimes, she was captured and put on a labor camp. That’s when we meet Jyn in Rogue One.
I would love to see a show with her. There’s a lot of room to touch on, when it comes to her past. After all, we see a film based on Anakin’s upbringing. It’s also known as “A Phantom Menace”.
She has two nominations for Academy Awards. My favorite project of her was in “The Theory of Everything”.
She is only a few years younger than Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) and the same age as Adam Driver (Kylo Ren). In other words, she’s still in her prime.
It would be intriguing to a lot of fans if they made her fall in life. I’m not talking about her hugging Cassian before an imminent death.
