Who is Maul?

Sam Witwer has the potential to be one of the most underrated faces in Star Wars. He will be featured in “Maul”. It follows Maul trying to rebuild a group of criminals after the Clone Wars. The show will be released April 6th of 2026.
With some indications that there may be regrets with the production of “The Mandalorian and Grogu”, especially after the mid Super Bowl commercial, it’s pivotal that “Maul” knocks it out of the park. It will start with the actor behind Maul: Sam Witwer.
Sam was born in Glenview, Illinois. Yes, it is a smalltown. It has a population of 48,705 people. It’s near Chicago and it’s very expensive.
This is not Sam’s first rodeo. He has shined in other projects, as well. He was in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, as Darth Maul (which shouldn’t come as a surprise). He was also in “Smallville” and “Being Human”. He has a minor role in “Dexter”.
There have been many impressive Star Wars shows. Not many of them have been animated, however. I believe the appearance of this one will make more people branch out. After all, Maul (with his dual light saber) is pretty cool.
There are other top notch actors in this show. Wagner Moura, Richard Ayoade, and Dennis Haysbert will also show up. Dave Filoni is also the creator and mastermind behind the show.
There will be more Star Wars shows coming in 2026. The second season of Ahsoka will arrive. “Star Wars: Visions” will also appear.
I would love to see Maul get a movie based off him. If this show is a hit, we could very well see that come to fruition.
