Is Rogue Squadron on the horizon?

Will Rogue Squadron be coming soon?

Star Wars has a lot of plans to dominate in the near future. There’s “Maul: Shadow Lord” coming to Disney+ on April 6th. Then we should expect to see “The Mandalorian and Grogu” coming to theaters in late May.

There is one project that may need to be dusted off. This is none other than Rogue Squadron. Director Patty Jenkins and Matthew Robinson worked on the project. Robinson touched on why it was important to Jenkins. She said, “It was very much a movie about fighter pilots. Her father was a fighter pilot. It was very personal to her, and we were trying to tell a really great personal story about fighter pilots and Rogue Squadron pilots in the Star Wars universe. I think we did a great job with it, and I really hope one day we get to see a version of that.”

Let’s not forget that Rogue Squadron is also an old-school PC game. It features star fighters and even Luke Skywalker! It came out in 1998 and it’s designed for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo 64. 95% of Google users admire the game!

The focus on Star Wars: Starfighter has put Rogue Squadron on the shelf. It was put on hold in 2022. Josh Wilding of “Comic Book Movie” stated that there are rumors of making the project into a series, rather than a film.

In the end, there has been a lot of passion into the project. Matthew said the following about Jenkins, “I had a great time writing it. Patty Jenkins is one of my favorite artists in the world. I think she’s absolutely brilliant. We had a great time working together. I don’t currently know Lucasfilm wants to do with it. They’re in a pretty big state of flux at the moment, after Kathleen leaving, and who knows what the future holds for them theatrically.”

I have never been in a jet, but I have been in a plane and a helicopter. I would say that I was a tad nervous about my helicopter experience, to be fair.
